The Silky Terrier originates from Australia and is in the toy group as an intelligent and energetic little dog who is alert and friendly.

It is 9 to 10 inches at the shoulder and has a litter size of 4 and a life span of 10 to 12 years. They have high grooming requirements as they need to be brushed frequently and trimmed every few months. They shed twice a year in the spring and fall.

The Silky Terrier loved children if they are raised with them and also requires daily brisk walks.
