The Perro de Presa Canario originates from Spain and is a guardian as well as a cattle dog, belonging to the Foundation Stock Service group.

They are a calm and balanced yet confident dog who is always alert and gentle, yet affectionate to his family

They tend to become very attached to their owner and suspicious of strangers.

They are of large size at 22 to 26 inches at the shoulders, have an average litter size of 7, and an average life span of 10 to 12 years. They shed very little and only require weekly brushing. They are not recommended for families with small children and need a lot of exercise. They do best in the country.
