Acne

What Is It?

Acne occurs when skin cells produce an overabundance of grease, leading to that grease plus dead skin cells, blocking the pores on the skin on the face, upper arms, upper back and chest, leading to the presentation of spots on the effected area.

For some, this condition is short lived and usually disapates on its own, but for others, it can be a serious problem.

Cause

Acne can be caused by a number of factors, the more prominant ones being; stress, and puberty. Some medications also list the possibility of developing acne as a side affect of taking them.

Treatment

There are a lot of creams on the market to help treat skin that is effected by acne. Not squeezing spots that do develop, trying to limit your stress, and being patient when starting a skin treatment are also viable suggestions to control it. In cases of severe acne, one can be put on anti-biotics, and other powerful skin medications such as Accutane to help reduce the amount of bacteria in the skin.
